The Ruckus: Soul, Funk, and High-Energy Groove

Emerging from the University of Michigan, The Ruckus is an electrifying soul and funk ensemble known for blending deep musical traditions with a fresh, vivacious energy. Driven by a powerful horn section, tight rhythms, and dynamic vocals, the band creates a "clear and exciting" sound that has captivated audiences across the Midwest and East Coast.

Performance Highlights

  • Infectious Energy: Their high-energy shows and charismatic stage presence are designed to ignite dance floors and foster deep connections with fans.

  • Proven Track Record: With over 50 venues played, they have packed legendary rooms like City Winery NYC, Nublu, and The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor.

Versatile Repertoire: The group boasts over seven hours of music, featuring original tracks and vibrant covers of icons ranging from Stevie Wonder and Prince to Earth, Wind & Fire.

"Clearly, Joe and the Ruckus is effective at creating a groove... the ability to generate human movement is the central measure of what makes music effective."
